Review by dr fiction

An album that combines both melody and sheer brutality. The stand out element of SOTA to me is the deadly and supreme drumming skills by David Haley, althought all instrumentals are played in a jaw-dropping manner.

This album really hits you, its as if it jumps out of the speakers and is right next to you, this huge atmosphere of thundering double kicks, guitars and vocals.

Only a short review, dont think there’s any need to keep stating the obvious (amazing instrumentals and vox).

Stand out songs include – The colour of sleep, Cruelty Incarnate, The Sceptor of Jaar-Gilon.

Verdict: a kick ass display of technical brutal death metal from van diemens land .

Vox – 9.5
Sonic Intensity – 9
Earplay – 8.5
Production – 9

Overall – 9/10
